Participation of MONITOR representatives at the training “Successful Advocacy” and the Environmental Policy Forum – Development potential in nature in Serbia

In the organization of WWF Adria, with the support of the European Union, within the programe “Safe Nature and Climate”, on February 27, 2024, a training on the topic of successful advocacy was held in Belgrade. The training was intended for representatives of the civil sector, and primarily for beneficiaries of strategic and ad hoc grants within the Safe Nature and Climate programe, and aimed to increase the capacity of participants in planning and implementing advocacy campaigns, as well as media appearances.

The next day, i.e. on February 28, 2024, as part of the same program, in the premises of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Forum of Environmental Policies – The Development Potential of Nature in Serbia was held. During which, among other things, representatives of beneficiaries of strategic grants presented their experiences and challenges in the implementation of projects approved for financing under the Safe Nature and Climate program.

MSc Ivan Petrović, a member of the project team for the implementation of the project “Citizens’ participation in the creation of public policies in the field of environmental protection in Novi Pazar” took part in both events in front of the CSO MONITOR from Novi Pazar – expert in the field of local self-government law – Deputy Ombudsman City of Kraljevo. Mr. Petrović introduced the participants of the aforementioned forum to the activities that were implemented within the aforementioned project in the area of ​​the city of Novi Pazar, with a special focus on the consultative and advocacy process.
