A significant consultative meeting of young leaders was held in Novi Pazar with the aim of promoting and developing the “My Novi Pazar” application.
This meeting brought together young people from various sectors of social life, including representatives of local communities, who had the opportunity to share their opinions, suggestions, and ideas on how to improve the application—and, by extension, the role of youth in the decision-making process in their city.

The My Novi Pazar app was developed to enable easier and faster communication between citizens and local authorities. Through this application, citizens can report various issues, track the work of municipal services, and stay informed about current events. The meeting emphasized that the goal of the app is further development in line with users’ needs, especially young people, who are seen as key drivers of change.

One of the key aspects of the meeting focused on encouraging civic engagement of youth in decision-making. Young leaders discussed the importance of their active participation in social processes and how the application can become a platform that enables them to be directly involved in the planning and implementation of urban and social projects. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of urban planning documents that define the city’s development, as well as their practical application.

It was stressed that planning documents should not be merely abstract texts, but should be based on the real needs and suggestions of citizens. Young activists and leaders should be able to recognize, analyze, and integrate these into the decision-making process.

Through direct communication and discussion, young leaders offered numerous suggestions for improving the functionality of the My Novi Pazar app. Some of the most notable proposals included:

1. Improving the user interface – simplifying navigation within the app to make it more accessible to all users, especially elderly citizens.

2. Adding features for direct feedback – allowing citizens, particularly young people, to influence priority projects through voting or in-app surveys.

3. Integration with social media – to enhance interaction and increase youth participation in decision-making, connecting the app with popular social networks was proposed.

4. Enhancing the issue-reporting feature – enabling faster resolution and better tracking of reported problems, along with increased transparency regarding the work of local authorities.

The meeting was highly constructive, and young leaders confirmed their willingness to be actively involved in social processes—both at the local and broader levels. Through the My Novi Pazar app, young people will have the opportunity to influence decision-making, actively participate in their city’s development planning, and contribute to building a better and more transparent society.
