Seventeen peer educators were held in the region of North Serbia in the field of combating discrimination, online hate speech and toxic narratives

In the period from August 18 to September 25, 2020, 17 peer educations were realized in the area of ​​North Serbia within the program “Combating discrimination, online hate speech & toxic narratives in multicultural regions of Serbia “. The peer educations were attended by 177 young people from this region. The project was implemented in the organization of CSO Monitor, and with the financial support of the European Union and the Council of Europe.

The aim of the training was to increase the level of knowledge among young people in the field of promoting and encouraging the fight against discrimination and hate speech on the Internet based on ethnic, national, religious or racial affiliation, with special emphasis on building trust among young people.

This project was created with the aim of combating the consequences that the COVID-19 virus pandemic had on already vulnerable groups in society, and was supported through a joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe “Promotion of Diversity and Equality in Serbia”.
