As part of the series “Fighting Discrimination and Promoting Intercultural Dialogue and Trust Building”, the first episode of a video tutorial entitled “Discrimination and Hate Speech: Key Definitions and Legal Framework” was published. The series of video tutorials “Fight against discrimination and promotion of intercultural dialogue and trust building” was recorded by the CSO MONITOR from Novi Pazar in partnership with the City of Novi Pazar, and with the financial support of the European Union and the Council of Europe, through joint program “Promotion of diversity and equality in Serbia”.
This episode of the series deals with the key definitions and legal framework of discrimination and hate speech. In a conversation with the guest of this episode, Samir Lekić, MA, head of the office of the mayor of Novi Pazar, we tried to acquaint viewers with the concept and characteristics of discrimination and hate speech, types of these socially negative phenomena, international and domestic legal framework for protection against discrimination and hate speech , forms of appearing of discrimination and hate speech, the relationship between these two socially negative phenomena, the most common causes of non-reporting of discrimination and hate speech, as well as certain international and domestic mechanisms for protection against discrimination and hate speech.
