As part of the series “Fighting Discrimination and Promoting Intercultural Dialogue and TrusT Building”, the tenth episode of a video tutorial entitled “Civic Activism in Combating Discrimination, Hate Speech and Promoting Interculturality and Trust Building” was published. The series of video tutorials “Fight against discrimination and promotion of intercultural dialogue and trust building” was filmed by the citizens’ association MONITOR from Novi Pazar in partnership with the City of Novi Pazar, and with the financial support of the European Union and the Council of Europe, through joint program “Promotion of diversity and equality in Serbia”.

This episode of the series deals with the role of civic activism in the fight against discrimination and hate speech. In a conversation with the guest of this episode, Dr. Andrijana Maksimović, assistant with a doctorate in sociology at the Department of Legal Sciences of the State University in Novi Pazar, we tried to introduce viewers to the concept of citizen, the concept of civic activism and the role of civic activism in combating discrimination and hate speech, as well as building trust and promoting interculturalism. Special attention is paid to the ways in which young people can take part in civic activism.

The content of the video tutorial includes the following thematic units:

5. THE ROLE OF CIVIC ACTIVISM IN BUILDING TRUST AND PROMOTING INTERCULTURALITY;
6. WAYS OF YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN CIVIC ACTIVISM.
