Participation in the Coordination Meeting of Competent State Bodies and Civil Society Organizations in order to establish a mechanism for combating hate crimes in the Republic of Serbia

The Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, with the support of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, organized online the second this year’s Coordination Meeting of Representatives of Competent State Bodies and Civil Society Organizations for the Prevention of Hate Crimes in the Republic of Serbia, held on 22 december 2022.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Interior, the Supreme Court of Cassation, the Republic Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Commissioner for Protection of Equality, the Judicial Academy, the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue. have played a significant role in the fight against hate crimes so far.

As a civil society organization that has implemented several important projects in the field of combating hate crimes, hate speech and discrimination, CSO Monitor from Novi Pazar also took part, whose representative, Prof. dr Aleksandar Ivanović, presented the results of activities in the previous period and activities which CSO Monitor plans to implement in the coming period.

The purpose of the Coordination Meeting is to continue cooperation, share experiences, as well as to explore possibilities for establishing cooperation between competent state bodies and civil society organizations, in order to establish mechanisms to combat hate crimes in the Republic of Serbia.
