As part of an initiative to enhance youth participation in local decision-making processes, another—fourth in a series—consultative meeting with young leaders and representatives of local communities was held in Novi Pazar. Participants were introduced to the My Novi Pazar app, designed to facilitate communication between citizens and local authorities, as well as to enable their active involvement in decisions that affect their everyday lives.
During the meeting, young leaders had the opportunity to explore the app’s features in detail and test its functionality in real-life conditions. The app’s developers aimed to use this interaction to collect feedback on how the application can be improved and better tailored to the needs of young people, who are increasingly interested in the roles they can play in shaping policy and influencing decisions at the local level.
It was emphasized that the app is specifically designed to enable more efficient communication between citizens and local authorities—allowing for easier problem reporting, access to information about legislative initiatives, and direct participation in decision-making processes. In this context, discussions were held on the potential integration of new features that would better align the app with the specifics of local regulations and legislative frameworks.
The young leaders presented proposals for enhancing the app, with particular focus on the need to better reflect local specificities within the system and improve access to information related to legislative processes. They also suggested additional options that would make it easier to track changes in local laws and regulations, so that citizens—especially youth—can be better informed about the opportunities to influence decision-making in their communities.
This meeting marks a significant step toward greater youth involvement in local governance and the development of digital platforms that provide easier access and interaction with local authorities. The collaborative efforts between the app’s developers and young leaders in refining its functionality can contribute to more effective implementation of local regulations, making them more accessible and understandable to all citizens.
