In the organization of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Warsaw, from 22 to 23 August 2018, a workshop on hate crimes was held for representatives of the OSCE and officials of other intergovernmental organizations and representatives academic institutions.
On the first day of the workshop participants were introduced to the meaning, characteristics, history and international legal framework of the hate crimes, and then through practical examples and workshop model of workin participants were trained to recognize hate crimes. After this part, the participants are familiar with national legal frameworks regarding the identification, recording and processing of hate crimes. In the last part of the workshop, the participants discussed possible models of introducing content about hate crimes to law faculties and the best ways to present content about hate crimes to students. At the end of the workshop, a discussion was opened on possible forms of cooperation between missions of international organizations and the University in order to strengthen capacity in the field of promotion of the content of hate crimes. Participants in the workshop were representatives from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Moldova, Macedonia, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Croatia, Tbilisi, Hungary and Kyrgyzstan. Participation in this event was taken by the president of the Association of citizens Monitor, doc. dr Aleksandar Ivanovic.
