Seminar for peer educators on hate speech on electronic media and on social networks in southwestern Serbia has been start

On November 8, 2018, in Vrnjacka Banja in the premises of the hotel “LiderS”, has been start a three-day seminar for peer educators on the topic of hate speech on electronic media and social networks in southwestern Serbia organized by the Association of citizens “Monitor” from Novi Pazar.

Association of citizens “Monitor” from Novi Pazar, with the financial support of the United States Embassy in Serbia, in the period from October to December 2018, is implementing a project titled “Capacity building the of youth in the field of combating hate speech in electronic media and social networks in southwestern Serbia”.

The project aims that through creating the network of peer educators in the field of youth safety in the field of hate speech in electronic media and social networks in southwestern Serbia, through a series of presentations and meetings in Novi Pazar, Tutin, Sjenica, Prijepolje, Priboj and Nova Varoš, increase level of knowledge and awareness among young people (members of local youth offices, high school students, graduate and master students, active members of civil society organizations (CSOs) and members of youth political parties under the age of 25) in relation to security culture and hate speech in electronic media and social networks.

In accordance with the stated goal of the Project, after the seminar, peer educators will hold a series of presentations and sensitizing workshops in the organizations or institutions from which they come from, after attending the seminar.
