The Office for Human and Minority Rights, with the support of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, organized a Coordination Meeting of representatives of competent state bodies and civil society organizations in order to prevent hate crimes in the Republic of Serbia, on 25 and 26 June 2019, in Sabac, in the hotel “Freedom”. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Supreme Court of Cassation, the Republic Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, the Judicial Academy, the Office for Human and Minority Rights, and the representatives of civil society organizations that had previously played a significant role in the fight against against hate crime. As a civil society organization that implemented several important projects in this area, CSO Monitor take participation on this meeting. Monitor`s representative, doc. Dr. Dragana Randjelovic, presented the results of the realized projects to the participants, as well as the activities that CSO Monitor plans to implement in the upcoming period.

The purpose of the Coordination Meeting is to continue cooperation, to share experiences, and to explore the possibilities for establishing cooperation between the competent state authorities and civil society organizations in order to establish mechanisms for combating of the hate crimes in the Republic of Serbia.
