Attending training on “Support to the prevention of violent extremism and terrorism in Serbia”

On November 22, 2019, a one-day training session was held in the Palace of Serbia building on “Supporting the Prevention of Violent Extremism and Terrorism in Serbia.” The office for cooperation with civil society of the Government of the Republic of Serbia organized this training in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) – Mission to Serbia.

The trainees had the opportunity to be informed about the concepts of radicalization, violent extremism and terrorism as well as the potential risks in this area through practical examples and case studies. Civil society organizations working with young people were recognized by the organizers of this training as key partners for cooperation with competent institutions in the field of prevention when it comes to violent extremism and radicalization that can lead to terrorism. Accordingly, CSO Monitor from Novi Pazar taked part in the training. Namely, in behalf of CSO Monitor this training was attended by PhD Predrag Ilic, member of CSO Monitor.
