The nineteenth meeting with youth from local communities, organized with the goal of sharing feedback and suggestions regarding the mobile application “My Novi Pazar,” served as an opportunity for young people from different parts of the city to express their opinions, ideas, and views about this important digital platform. The meeting was highly constructive, with participants fully engaged, and their commitment and enthusiasm deserve special recognition.
During the meeting, young attendees presented various proposals and suggestions for improving the app, particularly in terms of user experience, navigation, and feature accessibility. Many emphasized the importance of connecting with local communities and providing easier access to information about events, social initiatives, and activities in their neighborhoods. Additionally, they proposed the addition of new features, such as options for directly submitting suggestions and reports to local authorities, as well as the ability to track the progress of those submissions.
Participants also highlighted the significance of the mobile app as a tool for better engagement with city institutions. They described the app as a bridge between citizens and local government, enabling fast and efficient communication, transparency in decision-making, and insight into the work and activities of political institutions. They noted that the app allows young people to have a direct impact on improving their communities, and that such digital tools can foster greater trust in institutions and facilitate citizen participation in social processes.
One of the key points raised during the discussion was how the “My Novi Pazar” app can help create a new kind of relationship between civic activism and political institutions. The youth agreed that political institutions often feel distant from the public, but digital platforms like this app can help bridge that gap. In this way, citizens can communicate directly with the authorities, ask questions, offer suggestions, and track how their initiatives are being implemented. Through this kind of interaction, political institutions become more transparent, and citizens feel that their voices matter and that they can contribute to change in their communities.
The young participants especially emphasized that mobile apps are not just tools for efficient communication, but also for involving youth in the decision-making process. They believe that if the “Moj Novi Pazar” app continues to develop in a way that facilitates citizen engagement, it could become a key instrument for promoting civic activism and enhancing dialogue between political institutions and local communities.
In conclusion, this meeting marked another step toward strengthening the connection between young people, local authorities, and digital tools that can shape the future of their communities. The involvement of youth in the development of the “My Novi Pazar” app demonstrates the potential for positive change and the development of a democratic society in which all citizens—especially young people—play an active role in shaping their future.
