Participation at Western Balkans Resilience Forum – Collaborative Approaches to confronting extremism through action

In the period from 14-16. November 2018 at the “Splendid” Hotel in Budva (Montenegro), a Forum for Resilience of the Western Balkans – Collaborative approaches and confronting extremism through action was held. More than 180 local, national and regional stakeholders from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Croatia took part in the Forum, including the ministers of interior / security, members of parliament, mayors, national coordinators for the fight against violent extremism, representatives of local self-government, representatives of civil society and the academic community, local practitioners and journalists who gathered to discuss common approaches to opposing extremism through action. The Forum was organized by the International Republican Institute and the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, with the support of the State Bureau for Conflict and Stabilization Operations, U.S. State Department.

He took part in the Forum as well. Dr. Aleksandar Ivanovic, president of the  Association of citizens “Monitor”, who had a chance to discuss with the representatives of local governments and non-governmental sector from Serbia about possible ways of cooperation in the fight against radicalism and extremism in the workshop of the Forum by groups (countries).
