Lecture at School of Business and Faculty of Social Sciences at Drammen University Southeast Norway

From 28 April to 29 April, the President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Citizens Monitor, Doc. Dr Aleksandar R. Ivanović, held a series of lectures for students of the Human Rights Law, Multicultural Understanding and Conflict Management Program, on the module Human Rights in Crisis, War and Armed Conflict at the School of Business and the Faculty of Social Sciences in Drammen.

The module is intended to enable students to develop the ability to understand international human rights law and to learn about international humanitarian law and international sanctions that apply during and after the crisis, war and conflict. On the first day, Ivanovic held a lecture on the topic „Investigation and processing of war crimes in the Balkans“, while on the second day he gave lectures on the topic „Impact of the economic crisis on the appearance of hate crimes in the former Yugoslavia“. Both topics are the results of a joint research work with Prof. Lars Petter Soltvedt, Associate Professor at the School of Business and the Faculty of Social Sciences at Drammen, University of Southeast Norway. Both research are, in the form of co-author scientific research papers, published in the previous period.

The work on the first topic was published in the second issue for the year 2016 of the scientific journal for Criminal justice and security of Faculty of Security in Ljubljana, University of Maribor. While work on another topic was published in the Proceedings of the Conference entitled: Crimes of Hate Crimes in Southeastern Europe, held in November 2016 in Sarajevo, organized by the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and security studies, in cooperation with the OSCE Presence in Albania, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, the OSCE Mission to Serbia and the OSCE Mission in Skopje.
